Some Useful Trivia.
Did you know, a mosquito has six tubes with which to pierce your skin with and suck your blood? SIX!!! When they're not in use i.e. giving someone a damn itchy red spot, they are kept in a sheath for the convenience of the insect. I guess so they don't whip all over the place while they do little whining cartwheels around our ears. And so we are tricked into believing they only have a single needle with which to irritate us with, but noooooooo. They have SIX!!!
Each has a pointed end and teeth to help it break the skin, and all at once they are plunged into your skin at once while one of the tubes called the hypopharynx injects an anti-coagulant, vasodilator and anaesthetic so you don't feel nuts, and the other tubes happily suck away, all for the happy enjoyment of the small hairy thing.
Grossed out yet? I learned this in entomology lab. See? Who asked you to send me to school Mum and Daddo. hehehhehe.
